claude debussy

Even though his style of music was criticized in the late 1800s, his pieces inspired many other musicians (Ravel, Stravinsky, etc) after he passed away. He was a musical impressionist; his pieces focused on a degree of dissonance and whole-tone scales, but they created such emotion that often reflected upon the situations in his own life. Look him up! Start with the ever famous Claire de Lune and become moved by this musician who flourished in the Romantic era.
